Young Gifted and Black

My life as a Young Black Female Hip-Hop Celebrity Photographer began in New York City in the '90s during a time when the Hip-Hop music scene was considered Underground. In 1991 my twin sissy Gramma Funk "The Funk Hostess Wit Da Mostess" and I started promoting Hip-Hop in a big way with the Infamous Tuesday Night "Funk Hut" Parties for signed and unsigned artists where they could have a stage to display their talents. This is also where my career as a self taught photographer began capturing Artists and Celebrities who were in support of Us and the Hip-Hop Movement. So I have invited you all to take a journey back down memory lane with me to when we were Young, Happy to be Nappy, Hungry for our Craft, Determine to make a name for ourselves when their were no papparizes following Us. The Industry Only parties in the '90s in New York City was the place to be for a young photographer as myself and I am so proud at how we all represented Hip-Hop to the Fullest. It was such a Beautiful journey and now I have Herstorical (History captured by Her) photographs to share with You and the World!
