The Funk Hut

Where It All Began

In 1991 at the Big City Diner in Manhattan Gramma Funk, The Funk Hostess Wit Da Mostess Infamous Tuesday Night Funk Hut Party was born. Signed and unsigned acts and artists now had a place where they could display their talents, network with one another and chow down at Gramma Funk's Kitchen.

The Funk Hut is also where my career as a female self-taught Celebrity Hip-Hop photographer started and this allowed me to display my photo collage boards every Tuesday of all those that attended.

In 1995 we moved our Tuesday Night Funk Hut Party to Club Esso in Manhattan where we would become a staple in the Hip-Hop movement because now artists were getting their just due and performing and attending at the place they all called home...The Funk Hut.

In April of 1997 would be the last time we would have a Tuesday Night Funk Hut Party because Gramma Funk and I were venturing off to live in the United Kingdom in London, but "The Funk Hut" Lives on Forever!

In 2000 Gramma Funk would record, perform, and write her first Gold, Silver & Platinum Single the now infamous dance hit "I See You Baby Shaking Dat Ass" with London DJ's Groove Armada, where she was discovered while living in Ibiza, Spain.
